Barclay Barnes Interiors: Color Your World
Barclay Barnes Interiors began in 2005 in the home of Sharon Barclay Barnes. As the business expanded, Barclay Barnes and her business partner Elaine Gunn opened a shop in Dunwoody Plaza in Sanford last March. They specialize in custom draperies, soft goods, bedding, model-home design, and staging. The duo, both from the UK, are known for their elaborate themed rooms, especially those done for children.
In 2007, Barnes and Gunn won the Grand Award at the Parade of Homes, and were a runner-up in 2008. Some of their notable clients include nationally acclaimed builders Taylor Morrison and M/I Homes.
With its umatched level of service, attention to detail and eye for design, Barclay Barnes Interiors offers a wide range of design services:
Custom Draperies: Complimentary in-home design consultation, measurements, swatch books, and price quote.
Design Consulting: A two-hour home visit, assistance with fabric selection, paint color, furniture placement, window measurements, and drapery installation.
Custom Bedding: Design and fabrication of custom bedding.
“We are big, big on color—it’s more important than your furniture,” says Barnes. “You’re not to be afraid of color. Once you get used to it, you’ll never go back to beige.” And every room should have something black in it, says Gunn. “It becomes the focal point that pulls everything together. It really makes a difference.” S
