The Springs Concert 2010:

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will be riding a wave of “surf music” at the seventh annual Springs Concert. Good Vibrations at The Springs, this year’s great outdoor musical celebration, takes place on Saturday, May 1, 8:00pm, at The Springs community in Longwood.

Step back to the ’60s and ’70s, when the surfer lifestyle was all about sun, fun, the beach, the perfect wave and “f-r-e-e-d-o-m.” And the group synonymous with the surfing lifestyle was and is the Beach Boys, an American icon still loved for their soft, breezy songs and the free and easy lifestyle they portrayed. The 2010 Springs Concert takes you surfside with Papa Doo Run Run, the premier Beach Boys tribute band, and Maestro Andrew Lane and the Orlando Philharmonic.

Sit and relax under the stars, and listen to Beach Boys classics live. You’ll hear hits like California Girls, Kokomo, Surfer Girl, Sloop John B., Good Vibrations, I Get Around, Do You Wanna Dance and more.

Papa Doo Run Run has performed continuously since 1965, and its members have performed and recorded with Jan & Dean and The Beach Boys for three decades. On their own they’ve released 10 albums and a dozen singles, earned two gold records and a Grammy nomination. The band’s energetic, highly interactive show features classic rock plus their award-winning re-creation of Beach Boys hits. They never fail to get the entire audience on its feet and singing along.
